I'm due for a full knee replacement in a few days. My shower is an old school cast iron tub which involves stepping in and out. Being concerned about a fall I decided to install this. The handle is the right diameter for pretty much anybody to securely grasp, has a diamond texture finish, and in my case was nicely finished in black. The kit comes with the handle, trim caps, wall plates, screws, anchors and even a little wrench. All of the hardware is stainless steel which is a huge bonus. The instructions are clear and install was a piece of cake. I did locate a wall stud and screw into that for maximum strength. The included anchors would work in tile or wall board but I don't think the connection would be as strong as screwing into a stud. But I suppose they would be more than strong enough. All in all inexpensive peace of mind for someone with limited mobility or strength issues. And just a plain good idea.
I got this grab bar from IJDD. I will install it in my basement to help me get up and out of the basement. We have a steep step that is incredibly difficult for me to get up on because of my knee. This Safety Grab Bar is durable! It is constructed of Stainless Steel and has a textured diamond pattern to help you hold on to it.It's a straightforward install. Just put the bar where you want it and pull back the flange cover. Screw in the screws, and you're good! You want to ensure you attach these to a firm surface. If installed well, the bar can hold about 500 lbs of pressure. We used longer screws with our installation, as we wanted to be really careful that they would not pull out of the wood. I really needed this hand-up! It is a very versatile item you can use in many different ways! You can also get these in different finishes and sizes. Can't go wrong with this product!

I didn’t realize how much I needed this grab bar until we installed it. We recently updated our master bathroom, and while it looks beautiful, I often feel uneasy stepping in and out of the bathtub. I wanted something sturdy but stylish enough to blend in—and this bar checked every box.The feature I appreciate most is the textured grip. Unlike smooth stainless steel, which can feel slippery with soap or water, this knurled finish gives me complete confidence that my hand won’t slip. It feels solid and dependable, and I immediately noticed the difference in my comfort level.Installation required a bit more care than expected. To avoid cracking the tile, my husband used a diamond drill bit. He also secured the bar with six heavy-duty anchors, each rated for 75 lbs, to ensure it could safely support a person’s weight. Once that was done, everything fit together smoothly and efficiently. The concealed screws give it a sleek, modern look that matches the black fixtures in my bathroom. It doesn’t scream “hospital bar”—it looks like part of the design.I can’t overstate how much peace of mind this gives me. Whether stepping in and out of the tub or needing that extra balance, this grab bar is precisely what I was looking for. I plan to add a couple more in other spots around the house. If you’re unsure about getting one, don’t wait until an accident happens. This is the perfect blend of safety and style.
I was really excited for this as showering or bathing is dangerous for me . My first impression was that it was even smaller than I realized . I knew I wasn't Getting a large one and a lack of measuring is on me . But what was really disappointing, that I couldnt See on the description , is that the textured part is an even smaller portion. So basically one small hand spot , in exactly proper middle placement , has some texture , and that’s it . So if I’m falling and I meed To grab this , I’m def not in my right ninja mind to be able to grab the exact center .That said. It is nice looking and feels very sturdy. It came with decent and long screws and anchors . The black fits my bathrooms aesthetic nicely . And it isn’t so far off the wall that it will be a major bumping hazard, or get in the way. Some minor confusion on instructions . There is no 3 holed part . The instructions shouldn’t be adjusted . Mine had a six holes part instead. It’s simple enough to figure out .It’s way too tight to fit the cover piece over the bar . This means it has to be forced and finagled . Being a disabled person, that made this a lot more difficult than it needed to be .which is ironic since this is for a disabled person . It also means (as shown in the last pic) that the protective coating being shaved off in segments is likely inevitable, or was in my case . I’m afraid that it won’t be rust resistant now and with my white shower that could be a major issue eventually .It def was in my price range and for the cost it isn’t a bad value overall . If you want the higher weight limit, with pretty much anything , you really wanna try to get studs . Or one of them at the very least. It’s not perfect but it is manageable. Does what it needs to do but could use some minor improvement .
The older I get, the more aware I am of just how easy it is to fall and get badly injured. One of the most common places for accidents is the bathroom, more specifically getting in and out of the shower or tub. We already have a grab bar on each end of the tub/shower to help steady ourselves when getting in or out of the shower. Even young people can slip and fall in the bath. I ordered this helper handle to go on the back wall of the shower. The handle has a textured section along the main part of the bar so your hand doesn’t slip while using the bar. The end caps on each end slide over the mounting plate and bolt heads that attach the bar to the wall securely. These caps cover the mounting plates and also help keep water out of the device so it doesn’t rust. The matte black finish looks elegant too. Everything you need to install the bar securely is included, except a drill and a ceramic or masonry bit if you are installing over tile. Hint: put painters tape over the area where you drill in order to keep from cracking the tile. After drilling, just remove the tape and proceed with the installation. Hubby said it was easy to install, and I didn’t hear any ugly words while he was working on it. He was done in less than 30 minutes.
This is a good quality grab bar. The texture on the grabby part provides good grip. It is the perfect size for being at the entrance/exit of my shower. Even though it isn't the same exact color as the shower, it looks good beside it. It is very sturdy and I will have full confidence that it will support my father. Installation of these bars, not my first, is inherently difficult. With building codes, being that close to the shower, you never know exactly what you are getting into. There are MUCH better wall anchors out there that should be included, not the cheap plastic ones. The magnet on the wall is my contribution as to how to locate studs, you're welcome! I recommend this product confidently.
This a very nice quality grab bar. The metal handle has a knurled section for added grip. It’s subtle yet provides just enough additional texture to make it less slippery for wet hands. The metal parts are nicely finished with a satin black finish. I did find a small bubble in the finish but it was quite small and did not detract from the overall appearance. It comes with all of the appropriate mounting hardware and the screws are all stainless steel. It comes with color mounting instructions that are legible and easy to follow.Good choice for anyone needing the added security and safety that a grab par provides.

I was glad to receive this as quickly as I did. I am redoing a bathroom. This will match the new darker faucet set. It is more lightweight than the older bar but seems sturdy enough to secure you as you are rising up. This, to me, is a tiny bit more crucial than maintaining balance while showering, though that matters also. Texturing the bar is very thoughtful. Soapy or wet hands don’t always have the best grip. The pictures have made me think about other useful applications that had never come to mind. There are choices about the length needed, also. I would say that the quality provided matches the price point. And having the option for Black is a plus for me.
I installed this IJDD shower grab bar in my mom’s bathroom, and it’s been a great addition. It’s 12 inches long and 1¼ inches in diameter, just the right size for a secure grip. The black finish looks sleek and modern, and the textured surface really helps prevent slipping. It’s made of 304 stainless steel, so it feels sturdy and built to last. Installation was simple with the included hardware, and it holds firm against the wall. For around $17, it’s a small investment that adds a lot of safety and peace of mind. Definitely recommend for anyone needing extra support and a great functioning bar.
This is not a cheap piece of equipment, this is a very sturdy handrail or it could even double as a towel bar, depending on what your needs are. I would feel absolutely comfortable putting this in a shower for my elderly parents, knowing that it's not just going to come out the wall. Normally the hardware with these things is super cheap as well, that was not the case with this item, I highly recommend it. The antique black look is also a favorite of ours, so it can go in your own home or if you flip properties, essential items to get, you can never have enough extra handrails, towel holders etc.
Review for IJDD Grab Bar, 12", black finishJust got this installed last night. Once installed properly, it's quite secure and I believe it will support a lot of weight. The grip knurling is fantastic, and makes a secure hand grip on the bar. The included mounting hardware is higher grade than I've seen on other grab bars, and the additional holes on the mounting plate were great for adapting to my mounting location. And now the warnings, aimed more at installing grab bars in general . Placement and positioning of the mounting plates will be finicky. Make sure you have everything aligned the way you'll need it before you start drilling.Driving the screws can be difficult due to clearance from the bar itself for accessing with a standard screwdriver. I used a small right-angle bit ratchet, and clearance was still tight. (This isn't a problem with this bar itself: it's a universal problem with all grab bars.) Remember that no grab bar will be stronger than it's attached to the wall connectors you're using. If you attach directly to drywall only, it won't support any more weight than the drywall (and anchors) will support. Such an installation makes it handy for stability, but not for actually pulling yourself up. The included hardware is, however, much more appropriate and sturdy than I've seen included with other grab bars! All in all, I'm quite happy with this grab bar: just don't expect that it will be a 15 minute installation with only basic screwdrivers.
Got this to act as a solid grab bar to assist in entering the new tile shower stall I’m am building in our master bath remodel project. Will use it as we open the door to brace our entry into the shower as we step over the dam under the door. To secure it properly and avoid the possibility of having it pull out of the wall, I will put solid wood backing in the framing to screw larger wide threaded fasteners into, and not use the screws provided. The installation procedure is a bit tricky as you have to slide the collars that hide the attachment plate to the wall up onto the bar all the way to the knurled hand grab section. You only want to do this once to avoid risking the possibility of scratching the finish on the bar. Then you screw the backside of the attachment plate into the bar using the bolts and small wrench provided.Once done, you can then use the temporary clearance provide by the action of pulling the cover plates up out of the way to screw the attachment plate to the wall. Then you carefully slide the collars back down to clip onto the attachment plates to give a nice clean look without screws being exposed.Covering seems to be a quality powder coated finish that will endure constant use. The thickness of the bar makes for a nice solid grip no matter what the size of your hand is and the knurled finish in the center of the bar will prevent slippage down the handle.
